The word “Magician” invokes polarizing reactions from non-practitioners of our art. The simple fact that there is a negative connotation associated with our community is evidence enough that we, as a whole, are not doing our art justice. Rather than attack the scourge of bad magic and unskilled magicians, we see an opportunity to educate and guide the next generation of conjurors toward artistic merit.
Through this education, we can and will elevate the art of magic by creating a cultured community focused on original, powerful magic. Practitioners who translate their cosmopolitan experiences and sophisticated tastes into transformative magical experiences are in short supply in our world. With this recognition, it is only natural that a community must manifest itself. This community is called the LA Collusion.
The LA Collusion is a peer group focused on culture, creativity, and communication. Through these tenants and efforts we will accomplish our mission to forge magicians of the highest caliber.
Open and effective communication is essential to the honest education and advancement of each member of Collusion. Collusion’s emphasis on developing culture will inspire members to live a life worth commenting on. Encouraging creativity will replace hackneyed material with unique and beautiful pieces of art. No longer will we allow corny operators and gauche material be the face of our art. We are standing for great magic and holding ourselves and our art to a higher standard.
